FINANCIAL WEALTH – MANAGING MONEY 101

moneyAngie Toney is an entrepreneur serving clients as a health and wealth professional in the DC area. She recently left the corporate world to follow her passion to help others realize their dream of entrepreneurship. While she is building her financial services practice, she teaches financial literacy, and shows how good health is intricately related to sustaining wealth.

Before starting her own business, Ms. Toney was a director working with a local CPA firm providing audit and quality assurance services for local, state and federal government projects. Prior to that, she lived in New York and was the chief auditor for a chemical manufacturing company. She was also a consultant with Experis (formerly Jefferson Wells) and worked as a senior auditor for the not-for-profit insurance and investment organization, TIAA-CREF. Her credentials include a BS in Accounting received from Mercy College in Dobbs Ferry, NY, and an MBA from the University of Phoenix. She also has a CPA and a CFE license. Ms. Toney is a graduate from the Institute for Integrative Nutrition. She is a certified health coach. As a health coach, she practices a holistic approach to health and wellness, which examines all areas of an individual’s life, including financial matters, to see how they are connected. Reducing financial stress can have a profound impact on health.
Ms. Toney is married with two children and lives in Northern Virginia. Outside of work, she enjoys various types of volunteer work such as mentoring youths and participating in adult literacy/training programs. Ms. Toney is a board member and volunteer with Loudoun Volunteer Financial Council. The board is composed of volunteers, parents, educators and business men and women who have a stake in the financial success of Loudoun community members. She is a member of the Urban Financial Services Coalition – UFSC (formerly known as the National Association of Urban Bankers), an organization of minority professionals in the financial services industry and related fields. Ms. Toney has also volunteered with Operation HOPE, the nation’s leading nonprofit social investment banking and financial literacy empowerment organization with a mission to eradicate poverty.
