Thelá R. Thatch, MBA, PHR has more than two decades of experience in human resources, talent management, organizational development, and diversity and inclusion initiatives. Currently residing in Southern California,
Thelá is also the founder of Management Resource Solutions Human Resources (MRS HR), a full-service human resources consulting firm. MRS HR was given the Tech Diversity Magazine’s Distinguished Diversity Professional recognition in 2016 and Thelá’s work with MRS HR resulted in her being named one of the Top 100 HR Experts to follow on Twitter in 2012.
She currently serves as an Executive Consultant & FUSE Corps Fellow to the Los Angeles County Dept. of Health Services where she is developing and implementing a human capital and workforce strategy to recruit and train individuals to provide services to the homeless and other vulnerable populations. In this role, she is focused on investing in human capital to end homelessness.
In her previous role as Chief Diversity Officer for Live Nation Entertainment (LNE), she laid the foundation, and implemented the very first Diversity initiative within LNE. Thelá’s Diversity and HR strategy implementation was successful in serving a global population of over 10,000 employees. In addition, Thelá served as chair of the Executive Diversity Taskforce and the HR D&I Advisory Council, which she established within LNE.
Thelá is originally from East Orange, New Jersey. She attended undergraduate school at Kean University and received a BA in Communications with an emphasis in Journalism where she graduating magna cum laude, Who’s Who in American Colleges and Universities, and was inducted as a member of the Epsilon Epsilon Omega honor society. She received her PHR (Professional in Human Resources) certification and her New Jersey Life, Accident, and Health license. She completed her MBA with a concentration in Human Resources at North Greenville University. She is a PhD candidate in public policy and administration with a law specialization at Walden University. She has worked with various Fortune 500 organizations such as UPS, Devro, ADC, Paychex, Cablevision, and Fox Television. Her role has consisted of auditing business practices, developing policy, procedures, managing benefits while advising, and coaching owners and executives.
Thelá is the author of two books, “Employee Handbooks 101” and a children’s book titled “The Dog Chef.” She has also written articles for various publications and has been a featured guest on radio and podcasts to share her experiences and expertise in human resources and public policy best practices.
Thelá serves as the Recording Secretary for the Los Angeles African American Women in Public Policy (LAAAWPPI), and as a Director on the Mexico Central American Missions Board. She has volunteered and served within several organizations such as the Sarcoidosis Center of SC, The Humanities Council of South Carolina, Midlands Education & Business Alliance (MEBA) Speakers Bureau, the Columbia Writers Alliance, and Joining Forces (Veterans) Mentoring Plus.
Thelá resides in Van Nuys, CA and is honored to be the wife of Norman and mother to Simone, Chris, Anthony, and Shadow. She attends the Turning Point Church in Panorama City, California.
